Safety Coordinator

**Hours of Position: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm**

**Job Summary**:We are seeking a diligent Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will implement and manage health and safety programs, conduct regular inspections, and foster a culture of safety awareness. This person will lead by example and strive to positively impact the health and safety performance of all employees.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote a culture of safety excellence.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs per local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Safety committees, meetings, and training sessions.
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety-related issues, including emergency response procedures.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Maintain accurate records of all safety-related incidents and activities.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, hazard identification, and emergency response protocols.
- Monitor and track safety performance metrics.
- Assist in developing, refining, and implementing emergency response plans and conducting drills to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations, recommending continuous improvement.

**Experience**:

- Proven experience in compliance management, OSHA regulations, EHS practices, and risk management
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements, including NEC standards
- Experience in workers' compensation claims management is a plus
- Proven experience (4-5 years) working as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role within a metal fabrication industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, identifying hazards, evaluating risks, and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
