Sound Love Audio is a Milwaukee-based full wedding DJ service, providing lighting, sound and DJ equipment & services to wedding clients across Wisconsin and beyond. Our brand is known for upholding the highest level of quality available in a wedding DJ service and has nothing but 5-stars to show for it. Part of our secret is that we send two people to every single event; One Lead DJ, and one Assistant DJ. We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic DJ Assistant to join our team for the upcoming wedding season. This role offers a unique opportunity for those looking to gain first-hand experience in the wedding entertainment industry under the mentorship of a seasoned professional.

As a DJ Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our events by supporting the lead DJ. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about music and entertainment, and are eager to learn and grow in the field.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with loading, setting up, and tearing down DJ and audiovisual equipment.
- Independently set up and manage photo booth and lighting system as needed.
- Ensure the event timeline is adhered to, coordinating closely with the lead DJ, event organizers, and other vendors on-site.
- Prioritize setup tasks.
- Facilitate microphone handoffs during speeches.
- Manage song requests and maintain positive guest interactions.
- Step in for transitions or announcements when required
- Help control event lighting as needed.
- Maintain a professional presence; no sitting or texting behind the DJ booth—any phone use should be outside the event space.
- Serve as a backup DJ in unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness or emergencies).

**Requirements**:

- Available Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays
- Strong interest in music and event management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work entire day and late into the night (12-14 hours on average); Don't make ANY other plans on a wedding day.
- Manage physical tasks involving heavy lifting of equipment.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Presentable and professional attire is an absolute must; always err on the side of overdressing.
