** / DESCRIPTION**

The Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Analyst is responsible for supporting the Department of the Navy (DON) CIP Program. The DON CIP Program plays an integral role in supporting Mission Assurance (MA) and complements other DON Program efforts that also contribute to MA through Risk Management (RM). The CIP Analyst is responsible for supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Dalhgren command and personnel with onsite client support. The analyst provides technical and operational coordination and support to a military headquarters and supports Joint Service tasks as required. This person is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating CIP and MA Program requirements for the DOD. The CIP Analyst assists in conducting reviews of military headquarters plans, policies, and directives, ensuring compliance with DoD policies and directives. Support will also consist of developing briefings, program documents, reports, instructions, and information papers on CIP and MA that assist the region(s) in meeting Navy requirements.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Support the identification, prioritization, assessment, and validation of Tier 1 through 3 Task Critical Assets (TCAs) that support mission essential tasks (METs) for Operation Plans (OPLANs) and Concept of Operation Plans (CONPLANs) through the Critical Asset Identification Process (CAIP).
- Support development of risk decision plans (RDPs) for Tier 1 and 2 TCAs and associated infrastructure as requested.
- Facilitate the completion of MAA corrective action plans (CAPs) that address findings detailed in MAA reports as requested.
- Support the CAIP through coordinating with subordinate commands.
- Provide support, as necessary, to all phases of the Mission Assurance Assessments including providing research and on-site travel support for mission analysis, emergency management, and ant-terrorism/risk management.
- Support the client in the preparation of graphical, oral, and written reports, briefs, and products in support of the CIP and MA Programs.
- Review critical asset data in the Strategic Mission Assurance Data System (SMADS) for validity and assist with the validation and editing process.
- Review readiness reporting in the Defense Readiness Reporting System Strategic (DRRS-S) and assist with the development of mission chains.
- Serve as advisor to the client on all CIP and MA matters and provide research and analysis using DoD Mission Assurance policies.
- Assist in educating/informing client and leadership on the value of the MAA and significant risks and vulnerabilities to critical assets and missions.
- Ensure that relevant, timely, and actionable TCA information is available to USNORTHCOM, USSTRATCOM, and DOD. subordinate commands and units, CIP stakeholders, and asset owners.
- Develop briefs and information papers for internal and external use on CIP and MA topics.
- Participate in conferences, working groups, meetings, and other events related to MA, as required.

**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**

**Competencies**:

- 5 yrs. exp. with DoD and acknowledge of critical infrastructure programs
- Knowledge of the DoD planning process
- Joint / DoD exercise experience
- Strong writing and communication skills

**Required Education**:

- BA Degree or 5 years experience

**Required Experience**:

- The minimum amount of experience for this position is 5 years in DoD

**Computer Skills**:

- Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint (General Office Tools and Functionality)
