UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Wastewater Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst team. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance department, you will be repairing, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting industrial equipment, systems, and components at the Springfield, MA location. At UniFirst we have a 5-day work week, enjoy Saturday and Sunday off We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Perform equipment maintenance in the Wastewater area.
- Use common tools including but not limited to: hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Ensure safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems equipment and components, following blueprints and schematics, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot sources of equipment problems.
- Perform boiler chemical testing; records result in logbooks; and makes necessary chemistry adjustments.
- Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and makes necessary repairs.
- Record and analyze meter readings of utilities in logs and takes corrective actions where appropriate.
- Perform daily and weekly location and systems safety checks and follows up to address concerns.
- Assist with urgent repairs throughout the plant.
- Inspect motors and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, and performs other maintenance actions while following maintenance procedures.
- Perform various welding activities including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing.
- Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of location equipment per work procedures or technical manual.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

**Qualifications**:
**What we're looking for**:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred.
Will be required to take and pass UniFirst's maintenance hiring assessment to be eligible for hire.
A MA Industrial Wastewater Treatment license, MA3I or MA4I is highly preferred. If you don't currently hold a MA Industrial Wastewater Treatment license, and you're eligible and willing, UniFirst will fund your training and licensure within one year of employment.
- Equipment Maintenance Knowledge - Minimum of 6 months' work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required. Applicable military experience will be considered.

Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment test to be eligible for employment.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required. - Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English is required.
Basic computer and Microsoft office skills are required.
Experience using Hand & Power tools is required.
- Lockout/Tagout experience is required.
