**Position Summary**:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Research Scientist (Per Diem).
Dr. Joseph Palamar is seeking a per diem (hourly) assistant research scientist for his epidemiology study examining the epidemiology of ketamine use. The study is funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in efforts regarding tracking of ketamine prescribers in the New York tristate area and possibly the full United States.
- Assist in the recruitment of ketamine prescribers.
- Assist in the recruitment of patients who are prescribed ketamine.
- Assist in the development of surveys to be administered to ketamine prescribers and patients.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of research projects.
- Collaborate on manuscripts and presentations based on data collected.
- May seek grant funding from external sources in support of their independent research projects with consent of the PI and the Department Chair. May participate in writing grant proposals.
- Develop new ideas that promote current research. Exercises a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive scientific research programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
To qualify you must have a MS degree in a related discipline and 0-1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
PhD in a related discipline and 1-2 years of experience.
Postdoc experience focusing on drug use research.
Expertise in psychedelic/hallucinogenic drugs.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $32.14 - $36.81 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
