KHS reasonably expects to pay starting compensation for the full time position of Human Resources Benefits and Wellness Specialist, in the range of $23.13 - $30.14 hourly.

About the role

The Benefits & Wellness Specialist is responsible for supporting all aspects of employee benefits and wellness programs within the organization. This position requires a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive HR information, and the ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors at all levels.

Essential

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the Benefits & Wellness Manager with the employee benefit programs, such as group health insurance, retirement, COBRA, and FMLA.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Handle confidential HR files and documents.
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
- Assist with Open Enrollment, initial Worker’s Compensation intake documentation.
- Safety Rewards tracking.
- Assist in the onboarding processes, including preparing necessary paperwork, coordinating orientations.
- Assist with coordination of wellness initiatives and programs aimed at promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being among employees.
- Manage Employee store and Kern Bucks.
- Reconcile Benefit invoices.
- Facilitate effective communication between employees and HR teams, ensuring that employee concerns and feedback are addressed promptly and appropriately.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of HR-related communications.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing employee events and activities to foster a positive work culture and enhance employee engagement.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team.
- Assist with managing vendor relationships and negotiate employee event contracts to optimize event resources.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to event planning.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Employment Standards

**Education**: High school diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent.

**Experience**: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite/HRIS).

**Ability to**: multi-task in an interrupt-driven environment and complete projects on a timely basis. Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates ability to respect and maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive documents, records, discussions, and other information generated in connection with activities conducted in, or related to, employee information and make no disclosure of such information. Maintain effective working relationships, demonstrated competence in customer service skills and professional telephone demeanor; present oneself professionally; effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-drive approach to decision making and program evaluation.

**Knowledge of**: understanding the importance of employee benefit programs in relation to employee communication; collaboration of wellness programs that promote health and well-being.
