Chiropractic Assistant/sales

This key person will set up appointments, answer the phone, keep patient records, and facilitate payments at our growing practice of Westchase Wellness as our Chiropractic Assistant. He or she will work with the doctor as the go-between to help manage an efficient flow of patients and to maximize staff time during office hours.
Our office is expanding and this person will also be managing the clients of a massage therapist, whom we intend to hire in the near future.
We expect excellent telephone skills and they must be willing to work with existing and new patients to help set up appointments. They will be the “face” of the chiropractic office and should cheerfully greet each person arriving for an appointment and ensure that any delays or waiting time to see the chiropractor or massage therapist is communicated in a positive and patient-friendly manner.
The chiropractic assistant also helps keep records updated of patient visits and must have that information organized in a manner that allows the chiropractor to easily access this data. In part because many chiropractic services are generally not covered by insurance companies, the assistant is expected to process payments for patients as necessary.
The educational requirements for the position will be a high school diploma. Previous chiropractic office experience will warrant a higher compensation rate. Assistants need strong organizational skills and an ability to spend much of their workday getting up and down from their workstation. A good familiarity with computers, software, keyboarding and some data entry is also preferred.
**Chiropractic Assistant Tasks**
**Supervise patient during procedures, informing doctor of any changes or issues.**
**Assist doctor performing chiropractic patient therapy and rehabilitation techniques.**
**Requirements**:
Office Hours: 32-38 hours/week
8am to 6pm Monday through Friday (2 hour lunch); Thursdays doctor sets hours and no patients are typically seen: time is reserved for training and record maintenance or assistant may be off that day
Warm, hospitable telephone and in-person demeanor with patients and callers-some are in tremendous pain and must be empathetic
Computer Adaptability to learn customized software to maintain accurate invoice, billing and record keeping
Keep accurate inventory and maintain supplies of nutritional and wellness supplies and products
Manage doctor calendar and fill schedule - no cancellations without offers to reschedule
Recognize opportunities to market products and services to assist in patient wellness and build practice
Possess a lifestyle and belief system which demonstrates your commitment to health and wellness
**Benefits**:
Vacation= 1 week per year after 1st year (average # of hours worked paid)
Vacation after 3 years of service-=2 weeks of vacation (or average number of hours paid for 2 weeks of work) 2 months advance notice requested.
No health insurance but free chiropractic adjustments and wellness services and products at cost.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
