Must be NHA or ASCP certified.

Must have reliable transportation and insured.

Under the direct supervision of a Medical Technologist
- will obtain and prepare specimens for analysis and perform various screening tests as indicated
- responsible for the collection of venous and capillary blood samples using various techniques (i.e., syringe, heel stick, venipunctures, finger stick)
- Receive, process and distribute laboratory specimens, distribute departmental paperwork, and stock supplies as needed
- Employee will be responsible for the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population as it affects Phlebotomy
- will be required to maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with patients, patients' families, medical staff, and other hospital personnel
- must at all times verify patient identification at bedside, giving instruction to patients when needed, taking safety precautions during the handling of specimens and blood collections
- must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required
- will perform tasks as assigned by Laboratory Management within their scope of training.
- Adhere to the polices of LDRMC regarding Infection Control
- Understand basic patient isolation protocols and job responsibilities
