**College Living Experience - Monterey, CA is a leading provider of post-secondary and transition services for adults with exceptionalities, is seeking to hire a Social Coordinator. **We are making an impact on the quality of life for college-age adults with disabilities and helping them to reach their full potential with our wrap-around support. CLE provides educational support services, training in independent living skills, assistance in building social skills and community experiences, and employment coaching for students entering the workforce. Young adults with autism, Asperger’s, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, and other diagnoses can successfully transition to independent adulthood with tailored support provided by CLE.

The Social Coordinator at CLE has the opportunity to build on your experiences and contributions in the field, with a unique combination of direct student engagement and program administration. The individual plays a key role on a relatively small team and works alongside colleagues to collaborate, problem-solve, and continuously improve the scope of services for our students. This is a role where one day at work could include using your energy and expertise in a variety of ways including modeling social skills in a Super Smash Brothers tournament; participating in a student progress meeting; observing an improv group that your student intern leads; or supporting CLE's wrap-around approach by collaborating with community care providers. Dull days don’t happen

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Coordinates social skill development by leading a team of social coaches toward creating a positive and engaging community for the students.

2. Engage in direct service with students across settings in individual and group format. Brings flexibility and adaptability to engage in active coaching and instruction for students. Settings may include student apartment; community settings; CLE offices; student’s workplace.

3. Interview and hire social coaches and assign caseloads for staff. Engage in individual supervision, the completion of paperwork.

4. Maintains a professional relationship with local graduate school programs for possible externship opportunities.

5. Facilitates and/or supervises social skill development groups. Responsible for group topic design and curriculum development catering to the varying needs of exceptional students.

6. Engages students in planning and executing social events based on community interests.

7. Collaborates with other team members to identify social skill goals across departments, including ILS, Career Development.

8. Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of student participation in social activities and writes social skills progress reports for each student. Presents progress notes or summaries on students’ social development and psychological adjustment to parents, as needed.

9. Participates in all team meetings and facilitates social goal setting for all students.

10. Functions as a role model for effective teaching of students, as well as for communication, problem-solving with staff, and enforcement of student confidentiality standards and processes.

11. Provides guidance on social skills programming and interventions.

12. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, behavior analysis, or social services with a minimum of two years of relevant experience working with special needs students, including individuals with autism. Must have experience as a school, community, or private practice-based professional with demonstrated exceptional skills in developing older adolescents/young adults and securing the respect and cooperation of their parents.

Background in behavioral science a plus.
Valid state driver’s license with appropriate endorsement is required.

Pay: $66,560.00 per year
