Summary: The Data & Compliance Specialist, through faithful service to accomplish the mission of Kuyper College, provides leadership for assuring the accuracy and integrity of student academic records, and institutional data.

Duties and Responsibilities On-campus contact with students and others
- Meet with students as needed.
- Attend campus student orientation sessions informing students of relevant academic policies and processes.
- Work effectively with all campus offices needing academic and institutional information.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean. Student Academic Records, Registration, Retention
- Develop and publish the academic calendar, course offerings, course schedules and direct the registration processes in collaboration with the Academic Dean, the Dean of Students and Work, and the faculty.
- Oversee the creation and evaluation of degree audits and conferral of degrees.
- Secure academic transcripts and fulfillment of requests and supervise enrollment verification.
- Evaluate and determine transfer credits, equivalencies, and articulation of policies and agreements.
- Coordinate Dean’s List, academic probation and dismissals, grade checkpoints, and final grades.
- Assist the Academic Dean in coordinating programs with consortium and collaborative agreements.
- Edit academic portions of the College catalog and coordinate the editing of all other sections of the catalog and prepare it for publication (electronic, print).
- Works with the Retention Committee by providing the group with essential student data.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean Institutional Data and Research
- Provide vision, management, and interpretation of the College’s academic information to ensure accurate and consistent collecting, recording, and releasing of institutional data to appropriate stakeholders.
- Complete and store federal, state, accrediting agencies, and other statistical reporting surveys.
- Provide accreditors (ABHE, CSWE, HLC) and College stakeholders with institutional effectiveness data.
- Support the Academic Office with essential academic key performance indicators.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean Advising
- Provide information and assistance for the ongoing academic advising efforts of the faculty.
- Assist new and transfer students as well as students in collaborative programs.
- Act as the secondary liaison between Kuyper College and its collaborative partners.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean. MiscellaneousServe on College committees as appointed by the President.
- Act as the College certifying official with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
- Attend various College functions such as chapel services, faculty retreats, faculty assemblies, the Exchange, assessment days, convocation, and commencement.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean

**Education and/or Experience**: A master’s degree is preferred, preferably in education, academic administration, or a related field, and at least three years of experience in academic office positions. The Data and Compliance Specialist shall have knowledge of data requirements for higher education, and academic data tasks.

Communication Skills: This position will have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general academic data and government regulations, as well as, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Also, this person will effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, faculty, students, members of other institutions, and to the general public.

Reasoning Ability: This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations guided by College policy. Also needed is an ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills: This person must be comfortable with database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software. Knowledge of Google Suite is preferred.

Decision Making/Judgment: This position requires independent judgment in setting priorities and organizing work to accomplish results. Some of the responsibilities of this position are performed in accordance with existing procedures and instructions.
