**Job Title**: Auxiliary Teacher for Early Childhood Division

**Reports To**: Early Childhood Division Head

**SUMMARY**:
Turning Point School seeks an Auxiliary Teacher to work in the Early Childhood Division in a supporting capacity to Head Teachers and Assistant Teachers during lunch, recess, after school, and other situations as needed. A full-time member of the Auxiliary Team, this teacher will work alongside a faculty committed to innovating their teaching practices, with the guidance and support of the Early Childhood Division Head.

Regular hours for the position are Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Benefits include, but are not limited to medical, dental, FSA, and a generous retirement plan. Competitive salary based on experience.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assist in the teaching of developmentally appropriate classes in a safe and nurturing environment
- Prepare for and clean up after class activities and in shared learning spaces
- Support the Library and Research Specialist in the library
- Supervise, teach, and/or support the after-school care of elementary and middle school students
- Coordinate with Head Teachers regarding individual students
- Support the preparation of indoor and outdoor learning environments in line with our whole child instructional philosophy
- Work with the instructional team to set behavioral expectations and help students stay accountable
- Actively participate in faculty culture committed to being at the leading edge of Early Childhood -Grade 8 education
- Participate in professional development
- Perform other related duties as required

**Education and/or Experience**
- Twelve postsecondary semester units in early childhood education from an accredited college and six months of work experience in a licensed Child Care Center or similar program. The units specified shall include courses covering child growth and development; child, family and community; and program/curriculum
- A current and valid Child Development Associate Teacher, Teacher, or Master Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
- Some experience working in a Pre-K/TK/DK or early childhood setting is preferred
- Fifteen hours of health and safety training, if necessary, pursuant to Health and Safety code, Section 1596.866
- Experience in or familiarity with student instruction is preferred
- Communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Create an inclusive classroom/work environment
- Use multicultural teaching/leadership methods, materials, and resources that reflect multiple perspectives
- Engage in professional development opportunities to further develop inclusive teaching and leadership practices
