- Job Title: Certified Backflow Testing Technician**Job Overview**:

- A Certified Backflow Tester Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining backflow prevention devices in plumbing systems to ensure they comply with local regulations and standards. Technican holds a crucial role in preventing cross-contamination of water supplies and safeguarding public health.**Key Responsibilities**:

- 1. Device Inspection - Conduct visual inspections of backflow prevention devices to check for visible signs of damage, corrosion, or wear.- Ensure that the devices are installed correctly and are in proper working condition.

2. Testing - Perform regular tests on backflow prevention devices to ensure they meet specified performance standards.- Utilize specialized testing equipment to measure pressure differentials and ensure the devices function as intended.
- Record and document test results accurately.

3. Maintenance - Clean, repair, or replace components of backflow prevention devices as necessary to ensure their proper functioning.- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent device malfunction.

4. Documentation - Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting purposes.- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation to demonstrate compliance with local regulations.

5. Compliance:
- Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations related to backflow prevention and ensure compliance.
- Keep current of changes in industry standards and best practices.

6. Communication - Interact with property owners, contractors, and regulatory agencies to schedule inspections, discuss findings, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.- Communicate any non-compliance issues and the need for repairs or replacements to the relevant parties.

7. Customer Service - Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining the importance of backflow prevention, and offering guidance on maintaining compliance.**Qualifications**:

- Certification: Must hold a valid certification as a Backflow Prevention Device Tester for LA, Orange or San Diego Counties
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of plumbing systems and backflow prevention devices.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using testing equipment and tools related to backflow prevention.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to perform accurate inspections and tests.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address issues with backflow prevention devices effectively.
- Physical Fitness: Some physical strength may be required for tasks like lifting and maneuvering heavy equipment.
- Certified Backflow Tester and Maintenance Technicians play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of water supplies, and their work is essential for public health and regulatory compliance

**Benefits**:

- Core Work Hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm + some OT. Position is required to participation with other technicians on rotating On-Call schedule.
