Public Works Crewmember

**About us**

Paradise Township is professional, customer-centric, and fast-paced environment. Our goal is to hire an expierenced Public Works crewmember to assist with increased service demands and the long-term transitions in the department.

**Operations**
- Plan and execute road projects as directed by the Roadmaster.
- Perform inspections and manage the quality of township roads.
- Investigate and correct road-related complaints.
- Align work to the Public Works timeline (week/month/annual) and adjust when necessary.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of facilities, equipment, and projects.
- Conduct communications utilizing the Google Suite platform (gmail, drive, docs, sheets, slides, forms).
- Conduct routine checks of roads, right-of-ways, banks, gutters, trenches, and inlets.
- Assume all other duties assigned by the Roadmaster and Township Manager.
- Assist with snow removal operations to include planning, monitoring, removal, and maintenance.
- Transport equipment and crew members to/from job sites.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct paving operations to include raking, tamping, leveling, and shoveling.
- Conduct crack sealing duties including air blowing cracks along with crack seal material and machine operations.
- Install sewer and stormwater systems.
- Install and repair road assets including road signs and guide rails.
- Maintain roadside vegetation and keep debris from the right-of-way.
- Working skills in carpentry and masonry.

**Equipment**
- CDL Class A or B w/Air Brakes
- Operate trucks, backhoe, front-end loader, roller, tractor, mower, chain saws, pumps, air compressors, and all other related equipment.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of major equipment, including description, purchase date, maintenance schedule, repairs, and lifecycle.
- Account for all assigned materials, tools, and equipment, and initiate procurement of new materials when necessary with management approval.

**Additional Requirements**
- Primary Duty Hours - Monday-Friday - 6:30am-3:30pm (on-call as needed).
- Maintain professional contact with residents, staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (+50lbs) and move from one location to another
- Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, noise, grease, oil, fuel, sewage, chemicals, cold, heat, rain, and snow.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Work independently without constant supervision.
- Show initiative to learn and perform new tasks.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Heavy equipment operation: 3 years (required)

License/Certification:

- CDL (required)
