We are looking to add a Spanish speaking Hotline Advocate to our team.

HOURS: Position hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11am - 7pm

BASIC FUNCTION: Provide high quality information, referral and domestic violence program services by responding to calls from victims of domestic violence, community members, social service providers, medical personnel, police and other professionals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Answer the Hotline and provide appropriate service. Assist in ensuring hotline is adequately staffed. Document all calls appropriately.
- Assists in maintaining up-to-date referral agency database through informal phone contact and internet.
- Provide accurate information on domestic and interpersonal violence for callers and clients.
- Monitor and maintain the shelter office, communal living areas, and other program space in a safe, orderly and professional manner.
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Provide counseling, information and referral, advocacy and other services as needed for clients.
- Document all client interactions and services provided.
- Document and reports required for contractual and internal program purposes.
- Complete documentation of all work-related activities.
- Work with other agency staff and community agencies.
- Communicate issues of concern to the Shelter Supervisor.
- On call duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Associates degree or two years college level education in psychology, social work or related field required.
- Bi-lingual Spanish speaking required
- Forty (40) hours of Domestic Violence Training.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the ethnic and socioeconomic characteristics of clients served.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
