Job Description:
The Campus Life Fellow position works in the area of Campus Life Engagement, focusing specifically on support for the LGBTQ Center and the Sarah Doyle Center for Women and Gender, and in partnership with the other identity and community-based centers. This position will work closely with the staff of the LGBTQ Center and the Sarah Doyle Center to provide programmatic and administrative support to both Centers while engaging in student staff development and community building initiatives that intersect both Centers. The Campus Life Fellow will play a valuable role of being a conduit and bridge between the SDC and LGBTQ Center, working to systematize annual collaborative programs and highlight the intersection of gender and sexuality. This position will also support both Centers’ unique missions, initiatives, and programmatic frameworks, which hold important historical lineages at Brown. Additional responsibility includes overseeing the Campus Life Student Advisory Board, which works closely with the Vice President for Campus Life, and support of other divisional priorities connected with student engagement, as needed.

Note: This position is term-limited to June 30, 2025.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree required plus one year of relevant experience in the development and implementation of programs aimed at undergraduate students, either as a student leader/organizer or via professional experience post-graduation. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may also be accepted.- Preferred: Experience in administrative project and program management, education in gender and sexuality studies or related disciplines.

Job Competencies- Skills, knowledge, and experience developing leadership development programs that are responsive to the needs of a diverse student population including students from historically underrepresented groups.- Advanced communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate information to students, faculty, and staff.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.- The ability to mentor near-peers and advocate for their growth and development.- Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as relevant computer systems/technology experience.- Developed interpersonal, communication, and relational skills to interact positively, cooperatively, and collaboratively with stakeholders.- Ability to collaborate with students, staff and faculty in out-of-classroom settings.
