**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Title**:
**Hotline Advocate
**Reports to**:
Naples Residential Manager

**Status**:
Full-time, Non-exempt.

**Description**:
Provide all services required to operate and maintain The Shelter’s Hotline and Textline.

**Requirements & Skills**:

- High school diploma and/or equivalent experience
- Ability to advocate on behalf of survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking
- Bi-lingual (English, Spanish, Creole preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with survivors of domestic violence preferred.
- Experience operating a hotline and/or providing customer support services preferred.
- Training and experience in crisis intervention counseling preferred.
- Must adhere to The Shelter’s policies and procedures.
- Must pass state and national background checks
- Must have a valid Florida Driver's License
- Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccinations or exemption
- Successful completion of Core Competency course to obtain and maintain privilege through licensor.
- Successful completion of first aid and CPR class.

**Duties**:

- Answer crisis hotline and provide safety planning services and lethality assessments.
- Assess need for emergency shelter and provide internal and external referrals.
- Answer the crisis hotline and provide crisis counseling, emotional support, and guidance.
- Provide follow-up contact (in person, via telephone, or written) to offer emotional support, provide empathetic listening to check on victim’s progress.
- Provide information and referral to and for crime victims
- Maintain knowledge of community resources
- Responsible for providing all hotline services via The Shelter’s Textline.
- Responsible for accurate and timely hotline documentation, which shall occur manually and electronically with every call.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
