**Job Description Summary**:
Directs and manages the academic and administrative matters of the MS Data Analytics, MS Accounting, BS/BA Business Administration, through academic advising in the College of Business.
**Specific Duties**:
Be the primary advising contact and support for students enrolled in the MSDA, MS Accounting, BS/BA BA, and 4+ 1, and other Programs, as needed. Provide routine advising to students enrolled in the programs. Maintain the files of all assigned advisees. Track the academic development of these students.Contact, at the beginning of each session, the non-registered advisees to determine their status, document the reasons for the lack of registering, and compile the data. Maintain retention data and follow up with non-registered advisees.Respond to current or potential student inquiries about the designated Programs and support the marketing efforts of the programs by working with the marketing directors where appropriate.Publish the session-by-session class schedule, prepare and track students, maintain the MSDA electronic community and other electronic community sites.Review and identify eligible graduates to be cleared or not cleared for graduation.Plan and manage the logistics, coordination and administration of the programs and program events such as: new student welcome, registration, advising, training, orientation, and informational meetings such as SOAR, etc.Perform other advising duties assigned/requested by the supervisor.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- One year of profesional work experience with exposure to advising, mentoring, or counseling experience in a higher education institution.
- Evidence of computer literacy and experience with standard computer software such as Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Zoom, WebEx, Banner, My Degree Tracker, Blackboard, Qualtrics, Slate, and/or LinkedIn.
- Exposure to academic advising, personal counseling, career guidance, or program management to support student success.
- Demonstrated understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, cultural background, disability, and sexual orientation of college students, faculty, and staff.
- Possession of a bachelors degree.
- Evidence of skills and knowledge of problem solving, conflict resolution, and customer service.
- Evidence of excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in team environment.
- General knowledge of program and degree requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in English, with a diverse population both orally and in writing.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Masters degree in business, a related field, education, or counseling.
- Experience in advising college students.
- Ability to communicate in other languages such as Spanish, Arabic, and Mandarin.
- Experience working with diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, cultural background, disability, and sexual orientation of college students, faculty, and staff in a higher education institution.
