Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the power facility while assigned to the Maintenance Department. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and instrumentation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the gas turbine, steam turbine, generators, heat recovery steam generator, cooling towers, air compressors, water treatment equipment, demineralizers, motors, pumps, diesel generators, and other auxiliary equipment. Strictly adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Sets priorities for the day to day work of the Maintenance OMT’s.
- Provides the Maintenance Manager with detailed information regarding the daily, weekly, and monthly work schedule for the Maintenance OMT’s.
- Plans projects and work orders, including ordering materials.
- Works with the Operations LOMT to ensure that facility priorities are addressed.
- Assists the Maintenance and Operations Manager to assign priorities and develop work plans for upcoming projects.
- Assists and supports other Maintenance OMT’s to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Interacts with contract support vendors to assist in facility maintenance including job walk-downs and bid solicitations.
- Provide oversight and quality control for contracted work activities within the plant to ensure jobs are completed on schedule and to required standards.
- Acts as the Planner/Scheduler onsite to provide information for scheduling and coordinating projects and outages.
- Maintains a combined cycle generating facility and all associated auxiliary and support equipment with mínimal guidance or assistance. This position requires making operating decisions based on plant procedures, environmental regulations, safety procedures, and using good judgment based on operating data.
- Reads meters, gauges, or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment, vibration of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, and fluid levels to verify operating conditions. Visually inspects and listens to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication.
- Communicates plant issues and keeps the Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager and/or Facility Manager fully informed of unusual conditions, damaged equipment, and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations.
- Utilizes Maximo as the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) by displaying a proficiency in using the system, entering data consistent with fellow employees and dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy. Thoroughly records equipment problems in the work order logs, and documents maintenance actions taken to complete the repairs. Handles corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely and high quality manner. Shows diligence in documenting and communicating spare parts usage as well as re-ordering parts for inventory.
- Sets up and operates various tools and instruments to troubleshoot and repair equipment or components.
- Performs capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Reads, understands and complies with all regulatory procedures and facility safety programs. Follow all plant environmental permits.
- Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the plant and maintenance shop areas.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Facility, Maintenance and Operations Managers.

**Required Skills / Knowledge**:

- Demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in all facets of combined cycle power plant maintenance and operations.
- Capable of writing procedures, work requests, purchase requisitions, and work plans.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals and P&ID's, write routine reports, solve practical problems.
- Must clearly communicate tasks and needs, and training of other personnel.
- Mechanical, instrumentation and electrical equipment knowledge is required.
- Demonstrates the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of electrical support systems for a combined cycle power plant.
- Knowledge of GE 7EA, GE 6B, GE SC5 and Siemens Energy SST-900 Steam Turbines.
- Knowledgeable of Demineralized Water plants.
- Knowledgeable in Maximo CMMS Program.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in power plant maintenance or operations including: Job setup and execution, planning, job cost and time estimating, work scheduling and prioritization.
