Clifton Park, United States Saratoga Bridges Full time

**We’re hiring Jr. DSPs (Junior Direct Support Professionals) for the summertime and school breaks. Get set up now to start working when the school year ends.**

**Looking for a job? Discover the Rewards** of working at Saratoga Bridges, providing supports to people with a diagnosis of an Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability within Saratoga County. As a Jr. DSP, you will receive paid training on how to work with people with developmental disabilities as well as strategies to help you be successful in the workplace. This is a paid opportunity at Saratoga Bridges, for **high school students, ages 16 and 17**.

The Jr. DSP will focus on recreational activities, socialization, and community outings. Some examples of these activities are leading a game, helping with an art activity, or helping someone stay with the group, while on a walk at a park with a co-worker. The Jr. DSP will also work on cultivating communication between the individuals they are working with and those around them.

The Jr. DSP will be assigned a mentor who will work with them. Following a week by week outline the Jr. DSP will learn new skills with support from their mentor. Each week will end with a feedback session. Upon completion, the Jr. DSP will be able to take a more leading role in activities and outings while working with their mentor.

We hope Jr. DSP’s will gain an understanding of what it is like to work with people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities. This will provide exposure to more career paths.

This is a part-time position during the school year, under 28 hours per week. Longer hours may be available to work during the summer and school breaks.

**If you’re over 18 and graduating, we have jobs for you too.**
