Mailroom Associate

Milwaukee, United States Retrospekt Full time

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

At Retrospekt, we restore vintage items to look and perform like they did in their prime as well as provide new products that fit under the umbrella of analog and nostalgia. We’re passionate people, addicted to the experience of analog equipment. Polaroid cameras from the 80’s and 90’s, cassette players and radios, roll film cameras, Game Boys, and even VCRs are just some of the items you’ll find our team bringing back to life for another generation.

The Mailroom Associate is a key part of our success, ensuring that incoming inventory is being processed in a timely manner and reaching the appropriate department. It is critical that the Mailroom Associate be detail-oriented and organized, and they must be able to multitask and think on the fly. Successful Mailroom Associates will master numerous duties relating to efficiently processing incoming inventory in Retrospekt’s internal inventory tracking system. These duties include (but are not limited to):

- Receiving incoming parcel and freight deliveries
- Operating warehouse equipment, including carts, dollies, and pallet jacks, to move shipments and merchandise about our facility
- Inspecting delivered items and ensuring that they reach the appropriate person/department
- Opening, grading, sorting, and correctly putting away all incoming vintage inventory
- Tracking and closing out incoming inventory using Google Sheets and Trello
- Working with mail carriers and drivers to resolve issues as needed
- Assisting with the handling of outgoing parcel and freight shipments
- Maintaining and improving the organization and cleanliness of the mailroom and inventory areas
- Contributing ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent in order to be considered for this position. No particular level of job experience is required; we’re simply looking for positive, hard-working, and reliable people to join our team. All training related to the Mailroom Associate position will be provided on the job (however, prior experience with Mac OS and Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel would be a huge plus).
- Have a collaborative and welcoming spirit
- Enjoy learning new things and be comfortable asking questions
- Find satisfaction and motivation in completing tasks (both big and small) with a level of excellence
- Thrive in a mostly-independent work environment
- Be comfortable working and collaborating with others as the need arises (an assistant may be scheduled to help in the mailroom during times of particularly high deliveries)
- Be familiar with Mac OS and Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel

This is by no means a requirement, but anyone who has a love for art, music, photography, retro gaming, or vintage/analog products in general will have plenty in common with the rest of our team
