Building Maintenance Worker

The building maintenance/handyman is responsible for performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, ensuring that buildings and facilities are in good working order. This role requires versatility and a wide range of skills in areas such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general maintenance, but not limited to.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs: Perform repairs on buildings, equipment, and facilities. This includes tasks related to plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance.

Installation: Install fixtures and appliances such as lighting, sinks, toilets, and other equipment.

Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of buildings, facilities, and equipment to identify and address issues before they become major problems.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose problems and determine the best solutions for repair.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with safety standards and regulations.

Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each task.

Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.

Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks.

**Skills**:Basic plumbing and electrical skills

Carpentry and painting skills

Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus

Ability to use and repair hand and power tools safely and effectively

Physical Abilities: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.

Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

**Education**:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training or certifications in relevant trades is preferred.

Working Conditions:
The role may involve working indoors and outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.

The handyman may be required to work on-call or during irregular hours to respond to emergencies.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
