The Community Day Services (CDS) provides a variety of programs to enhance each individual's adaptive living skills, economic self-sufficiency, overall level of independence and integration into the community.

The CDS is seeking a Paraprofessional to join the Enhanced Staffing Classroom. The Paraprofessional is responsible for implementing all assigned classroom duties specific to the Enhanced Staffing Classroom. Supervises and cares for the needs of the assigned consumers.

**Schedule**: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4 PM

**Pay Rate**: $21.90 - $22.90 hourly

**Responsibilities**:

- Implements the program activities as prescribed for the Enhanced Staffing Program. Follows the Enhanced Staffing daily schedule.
- Implements methods of instruction that are designed to enhance the consumer's behavior and personal, vocational, social and ADL skills
- Is fully knowledgeable of all behavior management programs for participants in the Enhanced Staffing classroom and is capable of implementing these programs in both structured and unstructured settings and activities.
- Provides data related to completion of the goals and objectives of the IPP. Ensures each consumer works towards individual goal attainment.
- Documents each consumer's individual activities on their weekly Participant Schedule.
- Documents all injuries and illnesses; notifies nursing for any fall, accident, illness and/or other medical concerns.
- Completes all documentation as required by agency policy and licensing regulations, ensuring all established deadlines are met, including for daily attendance and incident reports
- Plans and supervises weekly community outings for all consumers. Follows established protocol for use of agency vehicles, including gassing vans, completing vehicle log, and keeping vehicles clean.
- Transports and supervises consumers during transport from one department to the other and during Residential/Home and CDS activities and community outings; while transporting clients, complies with route, safety and other transportation procedures.
- Provides crisis counseling and emergency interventions as needed.
- Perform personal care as needed and/or required including, but not limited to, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene needs of the consumers.
- Informs Program Supervisor of supplies (cleaning, hygiene) and materials (goal and activity) needed.
- Attends and actively participates in all scheduled and non-scheduled In-Service programs.
- Is responsible for the safety and welfare of all consumers in the classroom. Maintains a safe, clean and organized environment for the consumers.
- Administers standardized assessments and utilizes daily observations to evaluate consumer skills
- Implements individual behavior program (if applicable) for maladaptive behaviors, ensuring that target behaviors are dealt with through consistent implementation of the current program
- Attends and contributes to consumer IPP meetings.

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to demonstrate approved behavior management techniques
- Certified by the State of Illinois as a Paraprofessional, or Registered Behavior Technician
- Experience in an educational environment preferred
- Valid IL driver's license
- Pass a criminal background check and physical/drug test
- Pass a MVR background check
