Pipelayer

Duties include:
Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and quality standards are met
- Assist in the set-up and operation of lasers and transits
- Read grade poles for pipe installation and grading operation
- Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
- Bench, shore or slope excavations
- Check slopes for conformance to requirements using levels or lasers
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using welding equipment, cement or glue
- Measure and cut pipes to required lengths
- Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
- Grade and level trench bases and culverts using tamping machines and hand tools
- Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and equipment
- Locate existing pipes in need of repair or replacement
- Using hand tools, mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete, asphalt, or gravel
- Operate mechanized equipment such as rollers, tamps, jackhammers
- Hand dig to visually check for utilities

To be successful in this position you must have a passion for construction, getting the job done right and safely as well as the ability to perform intense manual labor, comprehend and follow instruction, and a minimum two years pipelaying experience.

Valid driver's license, drug screening and background check required. Must be willing to travel to job sites various locations throughout DE.
