- Answer telephones in a courteous and professional manner; identify your department and name.
- Proceed to his/her assigned area promptly and without delay.
- Comply with meal and post relief breaks as directed.
- Keep the Desk Officer or supervisor informed of Hospital Police services rendered.
- Report any unusual crime and safety hazards to the Patrol Supervisor or to the Central Dispatcher immediately.
- Conduct safety patrols to include fire prevention, smoking violations, ward visitation restrictions and visitor's hours, roof and ground floor alarm inspections in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Enforce rules and regulations as required by uniformed hospital security personnel.
- Investigate suspicious conditions and circumstances on assigned post.
- Maintain a memo book and produce as requested by any uniformed Hospital Police supervisor, Director of Hospital Police, Assistant Director of Hospital Police or other competent authority.
- Monitor portable radio and conduct tests to ensure radio system is operating correctly.
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
1. A valid New York State Security Guard registration card issued by the Department of State; and

2. Satisfactory completion of a 16-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) course within 90 days of employment.
