Youth Minister

**YOUTH MINISTER**

**Mission Statement**:
The Youth Minister is a part-time position that will report directly to the Head Pastor. Their principal goal is to develop, implement, and lead a ministry for students (7th-12th grade) and their families with an emphasis on creating young disciples and equipping them for a lifetime of faith.

**Duties**:

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Youth Ministry from the ground up including recruitment, education, and spiritual growth
- Oversee weekly youth gatherings on both Sundays and Wednesdays
- Lead summer camps, retreats, and other spiritual enrichment events frequently including planning and leading mission trips in conjunction with the Head Pastor and encouraging student participation these events
- Coordinate with the Head Pastor and Leadership Team as well as area schools in planning youth events which enrich the spiritual lives of students and their families
- Lead students in faithful participation in Worship activities
- Provide training and opportunities for the discovery and nurturing of spiritual gifts, encouraging students to use their gifts for the advancement of the Kingdom
- Organize and lead student outreach opportunities into the local community, in coordination with local schools and other local church bodies
- Counsel students and/or parents as needed and maintain routine communication with parents, working with the Head Pastor to equip parents to raise faithful youth
- Recruit the help of other church members as needed to assist with programming and cooperate with other ministry leaders to realize common goals and provide a unified church ministry
- Develop and maintain a budget for the student ministry
- Fill Sunday morning pulpit occasionally

**Expectations**:

- A demonstrable call to ministry; previous experience preferred, but not required
- Take personal ownership of the ministry in service of advancing the Kingdom.
- Regularly Attend Sunday worship services and other planned fellowship events
- Attend as many Leadership Team meetings and Business Meetings as possible
- Maintain a right relationship with God and Family, being an effective Christian role model and maintain personal spiritual growth
- Must become a baptized member of Crossroad Church
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must complete a safeguarding course prior to start of ministry

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
