**Assistant Coach - Defense Specialist**

**Position Summary**:
Monmouth University is seeking applicants for an Assistant Coach - Defense Specialist, in the Athletics department.

Coach and evaluate defensive players within a specific position group, which will include working closely with the defensive coordinator to formulate game and practice strategies, implementing practice plans that reflect the game plan strategies, and monitoring the progress of defensive players within that position group.

The position will offer advice and suggestions to the defensive coordinator as it relates to the performance of the overall defense. Fulfill various administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach, and assist the Head Coach in all facets of the football program, while supporting the goals and objectives of the athletic department.

This is an on-campus, in-person; non-remote position.

**Required Degree, License or Certifications**:
CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire, Bachelor's degree

**Required Skills or Software**:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must have an understanding of the University's concern for academics as well as athletic excellence

- A valid drivers license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here**:Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy**.
- College coaching and/or playing experience.
- Computer literate.
