Cheese Specialist

**Job Summary**:
As a Cheese Specialist in our supermarket, you will be the resident expert on all things cheese, responsible for curating a diverse and high-quality cheese selection, providing exceptional customer service, and sharing your passion for cheese with both customers and team members. The Cheese Specialist plays a pivotal role in creating a unique and delightful shopping experience for our customers.

**Required Qualifications**:
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Previous experience as deli clerk or similar role is considered.
- Previous experience as a cheese monger or specialty foods expert is advantageous.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures.
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
- Must possess a strong knowledge of safe food handling and demonstrate safe work habits.

**Job Functions**:
Performance of the essential functions of this position requires the team member to possess the minimum qualifications listed above. These functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Source, select, and maintain an enticing and diverse cheese assortment, considering customer preferences and market trends.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality and unique cheese products.
- Provide personalized assistance to customers, offering recommendations and pairing suggestions.
- Create visually appealing and well-organized displays to showcase the cheese selection.
- Implement creative merchandising strategies to attract customers and drive sales.
- Monitor cheese inventory levels, track expiration dates, and manage stock rotation to ensure product freshness.
- Place orders and coordinate deliveries to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality and hygiene in handling and storing cheese products.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
