IDACS Assistant Coordinator
**LOCATION**:
Lafayette Police Department
**HOURS**:
Monday
- Friday 8a-430p, overtime as required
**SALARY**:
$1701.11 - $1954.91
**DESCRIPTION**:
Incumbent serves as IDACS Assistant Coordinator for the Lafayette Police Department and assists with the
coordinator duties as mandated by IDACS and the department. Assist in ensuring that all agency personnel,
including any non-terminal (dependent) agencies serviced utilizing system information are aware of the rules
and policies of the IDACS/NCIC/NLETS system, as well as disseminate any changes and upgrades in the system.
Assist with yearly IDACS audit. Assist in validating monthly records (warrants and other entries). Assist in
ensuring all terminal operators (Full, MDT, and Inquiry) receive proper training in accordance with the IDACS
Training Certification Program. Assist with the IDACS submission packets for new users to IDACS. Assist with
JTECH new user applicants. Assist with the recertification of users. Assist with the background clearance of all
LPD applicants, including officers, dispatchers, records clerks, vendors, interns, volunteers, and Citizen Academy
attendees. Assist with CJIS training. Keep record of monthly totals of validations, re-certifications, submission
packets, new warrants, and protective orders. Report all rule violations and other improper system uses to the
Coordinator.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
Minimum of a High School or GED. Working knowledge of a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system is
preferred. Ability to use a variety of specialized law enforcement and modern office equipment required in the
performance of the job responsibilities, including a computer. Ability to obey all written and oral orders and
directives from department superiors. Ability to maintain confidentiality of department information and
reports as required. Ability to compare or observe similarities and differences between data, people, or things.

Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and work with others in a team environment. Ability to serve
on 24-hour call for emergencies.
Possession of a valid Indiana driver’s license and demonstrated safe driving record.
**PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT**
Incumbent performs a majority of duties in a standard office environment involving sitting and walking at will,
handling/grasping/fingering objects, close vision, and hearing sounds/communication, and lifting up to 25
pounds. Incumbent is occasionally required to work in confined areas. Incumbent occasionally works
extended, evening and weekend hours, and serves on 24-hour on call for emergencies.
