Position Summary
The School of Nursing is looking to hire two (2) Student Research Worker to to work under the direction of a Principal Investigator’s program of research focusing on The Impact of Nursing Home Leadership, Care Environments and Health Information Technology on Outcomes of Residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD). This is an opportunity for a public health student in tandem with the Applied Practice Experience (APEx).
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsibilities will include:
- Read through and familiarize yourself with the content of the grant titled: _The Impact of Nursing Home Leadership, Care Environments and Health Information Technology on Outcomes of Residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD)._
- Conduct national recruitment of nursing home administrators and nurse practitioners to complete 1 survey for each discipline (2 survey’s total per nursing home facility)
- Goal: Recruit administrators and nurse practitioners from a nationally representative dataset to complete surveys
- Recruitment will be done in collaboration with a recruitment team, already hired
- Keep records of recruitment and survey progress in a Redcap database
- Meet weekly (and as needed) with team to discuss progress and recruitment issues, when I am not available you will work with my Research Coordinator, Keely Wise
- Participate in qualitative research activities including interviews with nursing home administrators and nurse practitioners that have participated in the study
- Participate in dissemination activities including publishing, presenting findings at conferences, and conducting webinars as neededThis is a grant funded position. Continued employment is based on the availability of funding.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled Columbia student and requires at least a bachelor’s degree and or equivalent in education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
- Previous research experience is desired.
- Qualitative data collection and/or analysis is desired.
