**Description**
- Performs and may oversee cleaning, set-up, maintenance, and security of classrooms, offices, restrooms, halls, stairs, and public areas in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)-owned buildings; performs routine duties in the movement of supplies, furniture, and equipment.

**Qualifications**

Required
- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.
- One (1) year of successful experience in public building custodial work.
- Must successfully complete the FCPS Custodial Certification Course prior to or within one (1) year of appointment.
- May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis.
- Knowledge of custodial methods, equipment, procedures, and cleaning materials.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to learn the appropriate use of cleaning products.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.

**Salary Range**
- $35,930 - $59,656
