**Responsibilities**
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist with instrument handoffs.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of surgical equipment.
- Collaborate with the perioperative team to maintain a safe and clean surgical environment.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced surgical techs.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members.
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and infection control measures.
- Participate in on-call and weekend rotations as required.

**Qualifications**
- A minimum of two (2) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist in all surgical specialties.
- Demonstrates advanced skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.
- Demonstrates proficiency in ability to scrub ophthalmology procedures and total joint procedures OR proficiency in ability to scrub Cardiac procedures.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- American Heart Associate CPR required

**This position is represented by SEIU Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.**

**Pay Range**
$33.75 - $42.17 /hour
