Towing Dispatcher

**Responsibilities**:
This position will begin as a Call Taker and progress to full Dispatcher after training period.
- Handles all calls for towing and hauling services for vehicles, equipment and other items in a professional and timely manner. Calls include, but not limited to AAA, city and state police, cash call customers, and account holders
- Enters complete detail of all calls and updates to calls immediately after receipt in dispatch software
- Dispatches towing and hauling calls to drivers in the most efficient and timely manner by matching the proper equipment, personnel, and location
- Provides information to the driver, upon request, to assist in the efficient response to disabled vehicles and customers. This will include, but not limited to, providing directions to the pickup/drop-off locations and assistance in determining cost associated with the call
- Performs start and end-of-day functions for the Towing Department
- Provide assistance and advice, when requested, to other office personnel in a professional and courteous manner
- Is safety conscious at all times and follows all safety policies, procedures, rules, regulations and demonstrates safe practices when performing work assignments
- Attends and participates actively in all office meetings
- Performs other job duties as assigned by the Dispatch Supervisor Job Requirements

**-Tow dispatching experience required**
- Ability to read maps, knowledge of geographic area served, give clear precise directions
- Able to perform basic math -Strong multi-tasking ability for coordinating location of drivers with pending service calls
- Knowledge of function and capacity of all equipment dispatched
- Strongly skilled in organization and attention to detail
- Ability to answer multi-phone lines in a timely manner and operate fax machines, copiers, calculators and other office equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to change and work under stressful conditions usually brought about by having to meet deadlines or an emergency situation that arises
- Hours: must be able to work Nights & weekends

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 2 years (required)
- Towing Dispatching: 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

- Driver's License (preferred)
