Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is hiring** **Resident Dining **Aides and Lead Dining Aides**,** for morning and afternoon hours, year-round. Applicants who can work during the day, year-round, are encouraged to apply.

Brethren Village provides competitive pay rates ($14.00 per hour minimum, or $17.00 for a qualified, experienced _Lead_ Resident Dining Aide), and $1.00 extra per hour for weekend work. Resident Dining Aides have every other weekend off.

Dining Aides (Dietary Aides) work in multiple areas to deliver and serve meals to our older adult Residents, including Residents with physical or cognitive limitations; assist and interact with Residents during mealtimes; keep assigned dining areas clean and sanitary; work cooperatively with nursing staff; and provide service in a friendly, helpful, and safe manner.
- Lead_ Dining Aides also provide training, on-going guidance, and oversight for other staff. **Applicants with prior, relevant experience, and who can regularly (year-round) work early mornings and during the day, may be hired as a Lead Resident Dining Aide with a $17.00 starting rate of pay.**

Dining Aides must be able to carry trays, push carts, stand and walk frequently during their shift, and follow safe food handling protocols.

**Work Schedules**:

- ** Full-time, benefits-eligible**, **40 hours per week**, **year-round**: mornings and afternoons; weekdays plus _every other_ weekend and _every other _holiday; work days will vary a bit from week to week
- ** Part-time**: approximately 8 to 24 hours per week;** **mornings and afternoon hours, including _every other_ weekend and _every other_ holiday; work days will vary a bit from week to week

**Core Requirements**:

- a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use software, apps, and databases independently
- the ability to complete online training independently
- dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
- attention to safety: ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position and adhering to all health and safety standards
- commitment to treating each Resident, Team Member, and member of the Brethren Village community with respect

**Additional Requirements for this Position**:

- ability to work mornings and afternoons, year-round
- effective interpersonal and communication skills: must be comfortable initiating and maintaining mealtime conversations with older adult Residents; must be comfortable engaging with Residents with dementia or other cognitive impairment
- ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to complete all assigned work in an effective and efficient manner, working collaboratively with others
- must be willing and able to work in a safe and hygienic manner at all times, consistently following Brethren Village protocols and sound food-safety practices
- the ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs. (carts), and lift up to 25 lbs. (trays); must be able to stand and walk frequently during the shift
- the ability to work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled
- ** **Lead** **Resident Dining Aide**: at least 1 year of relevant food service / dietary experience, in a restaurant, retirement facility, hospital, or similar setting, and the ability and willingness to train and guide other staff
