Title: Landscape Laborer

Department: Public Works

The Landscaping Laborer works under the supervision of the Public Works Department Head, we are seeking a motivated landscaping laborer with a good attitude and eager to work in this industry. Tasks will include weeding (both monthly maintained and overgrown properties), mowing/trimming/edging weekly & biweekly accounts, mulching, pruning shrubs/ornamental trees, planting trees/shrubs/perennials, occasionally some stone/drainage and grading work.

- Perform such duties as picking up trash, concrete work and asphalt patching, leaf raking, painting, replace damaged street signs and replace missing signs, tool repair.
- Ability to operate a riding lawn mower, power trimmers, snowplow truck and a backhoe.
- Performs a variety of the heavy manual work in connection with the maintenance and construction of roadways.
- Responsible for the set-up of tables, chairs and stage for special events.

**Requirements**:

- Graduate or equivalent from accredited high school.
- Possession of a valid class “C” driver’s license issued by the State of Maryland.
- Must Have good Communication and Teamwork Skills
- Must have a background in landscaping.

Other Qualifications
- Certification or Licenses in Mechanics, HVAC, Plumbing, & Electrical is an asset but not required

Work Environment

The work environment will consist of:

- Indoors & Outdoors
- Various Weather Conditions (Hot, Cold etc.)

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
