**SUMMARY OF POSITION**:
The Duneland School Corporation Custodial Manager is required to oversee all aspects of corporation custodial services. These services must be conducted in an organized and safe manner. This position has a highly responsible role in providing management to all custodial staff employees**, **and will provide building administrators with communication regarding custodial services. All Duneland School Corporation employees interact with individuals both inside and outside of the corporation, and therefore, must have the ability to present a professional and organized image at all times.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- Respond to requests for information and services in a prompt, efficient and friendly manner
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service to all students, community members, teachers, co-workers, administrators and other staff members
- Observe safety and security procedures
- Utilize equipment and materials properly
- Attend, coordinate, and/or conduct in-service training
- Accept and carry out delegated responsibilities
- Coordinate hiring, retention, and discipline or termination of all custodial staff
- Work with the Director of Facilities to create and implement a standardized district Custodial Service Plan that includes consistent daily, weely, and monthly inspection protocols
- Conduct performance evaluations of all head custodians, team leaders, and others as assigned
- Review custodial staff evaluations
- Regularly visit each school campus to inspect quality of custodial service
- Assist the Director of Facilities in dealing with vendors in seeking pricing for custodial equipment and supplies
- Oversee equipment and supply acquisition, shipping, and distribution
- Organize and maintain the Custodial Warehouse in the Service Center
- Coordinate all sub-custodian staff scheduling, hiring, discipline, or termination.
- Assist with supervision of custodial staff in the absence of head custodians or team leaders
- Monitor payroll records for all custodial staff
- Work with the Assistant to the Director of Facilities to oversee facility usage process including district approval, calendar tracking, billing and problem solving
- Maintain operation and updating of chemicals in the Velocity MSDS system

- Ability to inventory, purchase, and stock all custodial supplies and equipment
- Assist with all district-wide purchases (such as copy paper)
- Periodically supervise the Building Maintenance and Grounds Services staff
- Unload vendor trucks using forklift equipment
- Work with the Director of Facilities and Accounts Payable to complete invoice payments and purchase order requests.
- On-call 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS **_(includes equipment, hours, physical demands)_
**Work Environment**: This position typically works in facilities with a controlled temperature environment. Occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions may occur depending upon assignments.
**Equipment**: This position is required to maintain a working knowledge of all custodial equipment. Intermediate level knowledge of operations concerning computers, printers, telephone systems, fax machines and copiers is required.
**Hours**:This position is typically expected to work an average of 8 hours per day. Summer hours will be adjusted as per the Superintendent to assure adequate coverage throughout the summer period. Evening, weekend, and holiday activities will be scheduled as necessary. The Custodial Manager must be available 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
