Founded a quarter century ago by David Berman, MD, a board-certified dermatologist, BSI’s mission is to blend state-of-the-art medical technology and research with a dedication to patient welfare and healing to provide patients with the best possible dermatologic care. With a well-established and diverse patient population, BSI has a set of broad and comprehensive service offerings, including medical and surgical dermatology, including treatment for acne, moles, allergic skin reactions, autoimmune diseases, skin infections, Mohs skin cancer surgery, cosmetic dermatology (including laser treatment of unwanted hair, sun damage and wrinkled skin, unwanted tattoos, red or brown discoloration of the skin, varicose/spider veins of the legs and face, etc), skin care products and medi-spa/aesthetician treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and HydraFacials. BSI is one of the largest skin laser centers in the world, with over 50 lasers on site, and many other non-laser devices for skin and hair conditions, such as 4 ARTAS robots for hair transplant.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Must be able to do insurance and patient collections
- Post Payments/Denials/Co-Pays and Deductibles to patient accounts
- Review and Follow up on remittance advice for payment errors, denials and under payments
- Accurately interpret EOB and collections report
- Initiate charge entries and appeals when necessary
- Follow up on all claims from billing through final resolution
- Prepare/submit medical claims electronically (and when applicable by paper) to government, private pay and commercial insurance carriers
- Identify and resolve any claim delay issues that impact billing and collections
- Resolve credit balances and account issues
- Initiate and track appeals as necessary
- Resolve COB discrepancies
- Post cash and reconcile daily receipts
- Confirm patient insurance verification and eligibility
- Responsible for data entry of daily billing charges from multiple clinics
- Send electronic billing through clearinghouse
- Re-bill and appeal claim based on payer rejections and denials received
- Assist referral department as needed
- Review account status on the aging report. Contact patients directly to resolve overdue accounts
- Perform related tasks and assignments as necessary

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum 3-year experience in medical billing/collections
- Must be familiar with PPO, HMO, and Medicare coding guidelines
- Must be familiar with surgical and procedural global periods
- Must be familiar with procedural, technical, and post op modifiers
- Working knowledge of billing software (Nextech software experience a plus) Reliable and Dedicated Work Ethic
- good attendance is a must
- Ability to work as an Integral part of a team
- Quick and accurate keyboarding skills
- Calm professional manner; self-motivated
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel) is required.
