**The State of New Hampshire, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, New Hampshire State Library has a full-time vacancy for a Librarian II for our Reference & Information Services Section.
**SCOPE OF WORK**:Provides reference services; develops and promotes online information resources related to New Hampshire; Assists New Hampshire citizens in navigating state government.**

**ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- **Maintains and updates the State Government Digital Document Depository.**
- **Develops finding aids and instructional materials for family historians and genealogists.**
- **Updates and edits the New Hampshire State Library website and develops new online information tools, with oversight from the Supervisor of Reference & Information Services.**
- **Develops finding aids and instructional materials for citizens to better access information and resources related to other state agencies.**
- **Assists with identifying and promoting digital information resources relevant to New Hampshire, including both existing digital archives and potential new digitization projects.**
- **Serve on the library’s Collection Development Committee and other library committees as assigned.**
- **Attends professional library conferences, training sessions and other meetings to maintain professional competence.

**18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree**

**36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree**

**54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree**

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:Master's degree in library science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.**

**Experience**:Two years' experience in professional library work.**

**Special Qualifications: Library reference experience. Ability to lift and carry books and work under conditions of exposure to dust, dirt, heat, cold, poor lighting and noise. Excellent attention to detail and highly organized work habits.**

**Experience with posting online content in a professional capacity, for example updating a library’s website and/or social media accounts.**

**Excellent written and oral communications skills. Knowledge of current integrated library systems.**
