Medical Secretary needed for growing Neurosurgery Practice

**Great Lakes Neurosurgical Associates PC** is a private practice neurosurgery group that has been in existence in Grand Rapids, MI for 35 years and has a full time medical secretary position available. Great Lakes Neurosurgical Associates provides superior patient-focused surgical care and works to exceed the quality and service expectation of our patients and their referring physicians in a rewarding work setting.

**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Schedules imaging, testing and Office Visits, follow-up appointments as designated by physicians according to established policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the nurse to schedule surgeries
- Interact with patients’, physicians and other staff within the clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information.
- Schedule diagnostic therapy and other treatments as requested.
- Obtain authorization for appointments and testing from patient’s insurance company.
- Answer and screen telephone calls in a courteous manner, and record messages for physician and other personnel.
- Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
- Input Patient/Insurance data into practice Management system.
- Rotate to the Front Desk as needed. Greets patients and checks them into the system. Room patients if needed.
- Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances prior to procedure or surgery.

2 years of Medical Secretary experience required
