We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer for our Controls Division in Houston, Texas. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and technical drawings for mechanical systems and components. You will work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure that designs meet project requirements and adhere to industry standards.

**Job Duties**:

- Review requirements or instructions to design and develop new components or redesign existing components to improve company products.
- Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
- Provide technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations that affect long-range shop and product engineering planning.
- Confer with engineering and research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design.
- Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout, material lists and detailed drawings and schematics.
- Direct or coordinate manufacturing and testing of prototype product or system.
- Compile and analyze operational, test and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.
- Plan and develop experimental test programs.
- Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Confer with research and other engineering personnel and prepare design modifications as required.
- Maintain a working knowledge of new developments, techniques and products in the industry.

**Job Requirements**:

- 2-year associate degree in drafting/design engineering or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
- Proficient in AutoCad.
- Experience with Inventor and Vault.
- Experience in equipment layout for proper assembly and maintenance.
- Experience with hydraulic closing units, and controls systems (surface or subsea). Experience with electrical schematics and panel layout a plus. Experience with BOP Control Systems a plus
- Familiar with engineering requirements (BOM’s, ECO’s, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
