Child Care Teacher

**About us**
ABC First Start Academy LLC (“ABC” or the Center”) will be a unique daycare experience for children from infancy to 12 years old. The Center will also provide after school care for children aged 6-12. While the Center will provide a safe and secure environment for its children, it is not a traditional childcare facility. Rather, the Center will exist to support the work-family balance and strengthen the bond between child and community through a structured curriculum. The curriculum will establish the foundation of early literacy with the integration of social-emotional skills development. It will be grounded in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics (STEAM)-related concepts that will be realized through exploratory play and movement. ABC’s key differentiator will be that it is independently owned and managed by an educated and certified professional. The Center will cater to modern, dual-income working parents seeking a seamless and affirming experience and a restoration of the home-work balance. They will come to understand that the Center provides a learning environment for each child in an organized, safe and friendly environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in your care
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and naptime
- Monitor and promote positive behavior and social interactions
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the childcare area
- Follow all health and safety guidelines
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in childcare, such as babysitting, daycare, or nannying
- Knowledge of childhood development and age-appropriate activities
- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills
- Ability to create a structured and engaging learning environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Note: Experience working with students or in a preschool classroom setting is highly desirable.
Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
