Holt Dialysis Center, Inc. located in Pomona is hiring for a Biomed/CHT to join our team.

The Bio-Med Technician is responsible and accountable for all machine maintenance, repair of equipment in the facility. Will also work as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician.

**II.** _**Qualifications**:_

a. Trained dialysis technician with at least two years experience in the mechanical repair, maintenance, and servicing of dialysis equipment.

b. Minimum of six months experience with the equipment being used in the facility of employment.

c. Demonstrate the ability to teach and supervise other equipment and reuse technicians.

d. Must be capable of self-supervision.

e. Demonstrates good working relationship with supervisor, physicians, nursing and ancillary personnel.

f. Demonstrates ability to interview, evaluate, and counsel.

g. Well-groomed personal appearance.

h. Record of good attendance and punctuality.

i. Ability to break down and completely rebuild a single patient machine, central system, if one in facility, and bedside station. Repair and recondition all components related to dialysis equipment including blood pumps, air/foam detectors, line clamps, and related equipment. Maintains this equipment at a high level of efficiency at all times.

j. Ability to troubleshoot the R. O. system including changing filters, repair and/or replacement of the R. O. membrane itself.

k. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate with engineers in set up for expansions within the facility.

l. Verification of formal education/training in equipment maintenance to the function of a dialysis unit.

m. Maintains CPR certification.

**III.** _**Duties and Responsibilities**:_

a. Supervises daily working schedule and performance of equipment and reuse technicians.

b. Directly responsible to the Unit Coordinator and Medical Director.

c. In conjunction with and under the direction of the Unit Coordinator recommends hiring, firing, and disciplinary action of equipment and reuse technicians.

d. Supervises and assigns equipment and reuse technician duties and delegates responsibility according to their capabilities.

e. Responsible for service, repair and maintenance of dialysis equipment in the unit at the highest level of efficiency.

f. Responsible for routine calibration and safety inspection of all dialysis equipment and maintenance of a written log to record these routine procedures.

g. Responsible for rinsing, bleaching and formaldehyde sterilization of all dialysis related equipment according to facility written policies and procedures.

- Med Technician will ensure that all supplies necessary for effective and efficient operation of the dialysis unit are maintained and will report to purchasing department when necessary. Upon receipt of supplies, signs packing slip and submits to accounts payable.

i. Responsible for monthly inventory and ordering of all parts and equipment.

j. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

k. Maintains a chronological log of problems and corrections for all equipment and a technical log relating to the availability and status of back-up equipment.

l. Shares responsibility of "on call" with the equipment technicians.

m. Schedules and assigns equipment technicians for "on-call" relief.

n. Assist head nurse in coordinating safety program for the unit.

o. Organizes in service education on technical equipments for the unit nursing staff. Coordinates same with Director of Nursing and Unit Coordinator.

p. Relays correct and pertinent technical information to the Unit Coordinator and Medical Director.

q. Keeps abreast of equipment needs and status of the unit.

r. Maintains and enforces infection control for equipment.

s. Attends and conducts meetings related to equipment and unit function.

t. Keeps abreast of new and improved techniques related to dialysis.

u. Maintains record of laboratory testing on water and equipment according to policy and procedures.

v. In conjunction with the Unit Coordinator maintains a 24-hour responsibility for equipment and reuse personnel.

w. Performs related duties as requested by Director of Nursing, Unit Coordinator and Medical Director.

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
