**Department Information**:
The office of Admissions at IU Northwest seeks an Admissions Counselor to serve as the primary contact for prospective undergraduate students and their families during all phases of the admissions cycle as well as represent the university at recruitment events for both traditional and non-traditional students. This person should be excited to recruit a diverse range of students within Northern Indiana and Chicagoland areas.

**Job Summary**:
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Represents IU Northwest at recruiting events; delivers in-depth presentations about the university's undergraduate programs, admissions requirements, and deadlines, to prospective students, families, teachers, and counselors, in groups or individually.
- Responsible for specific projects and outreach events for prospective students, admitted students, and other populations of interest to the university.
- Works on yielding admitted students through personal contact, follow-up programming, and identifying students needs.
- Helps develop outreach strategies and initiatives to engage prospective and admitted students, including but not limited to print materials, social media, and web content.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets prospective student data for recruitment and admissions decision-making, analysis, and performance monitoring.

General Responsibilities
- Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
- Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
- Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
- Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
- Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies.
- Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
- Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations.
- Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.

EDUCATION

**Required**
- Bachelor's degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

**Preferred**
- 3 years of working experiences within a higher education, admissions, university enrollment or advising setting

**Working Conditions / Demands**:
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

**Advertised Salary**:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
