ESG Analysts gain and impart a unique view of Information Technology (IT) market segments by engaging with a multitude of constituencies across the IT ecosystem, including vendors, end-users, financial analysts, members of the media, channel partners, and more. This unique perspective enables ESG Analysts to provide ESG clients with market insights to inform their most critical strategic business, product, and go-to-market decisions.

Essential Job Functions:

- Provide market coverage and client support by leading the company’s coverage of the Infrastructure market
- Manage and expand ongoing coverage of the infrastructure markets by:

- Scheduling and conducting regular briefings with vendors
- Interviewing end-user customers
- Publishing syndicated ESG content including market landscape reports, research reports, research brief, blogs, and videos based on primary research, industry events and news, and more
- Develop market research topics, and execute, in coordination with ESG’s research practice, syndicated, multi-client, and custom research projects including quantitative/survey-based and qualitative/interview-based primary research
- Author client-sponsored commissioned content including whitepapers, webinars, and videos
- Market trends
- Competitive landscape
- Product strategy and roadmap decisions
- Pricing and packaging
- Other forms of strategic guidance

Knowledge, skills and abiltiies required:

- Maintain a visible, public-facing market presence via social media postings (blog, Twitter, etc.) and speaking engagements (client-sponsored events, industry trade events, etc.)
- ESG Analysts also play a key role in providing sales and marketing support for ESG products and services. Responsibilities in this area include:

- Creating marketing strategies for relevant ESG content and offerings
- Proactively and reactively work with media outlets to promote new research findings and analyst opinions
- Taking an active role in identifying sales opportunities and assist ESG Client Relations staff in product positioning, project scoping, and proposal generation
- Support all business development efforts as requested by ESG’s Client Relations team
- 10+ years of experience at an IT vendor in a product marketing, product management, and/or business development role
- Previous IT analyst firm experience is a plus, but not required
- Proven industry knowledge, research and analysis skills, documented writing ability, superior project management and client relations skills, strong presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are all required
- Must be highly intellectual curious and have the ability to quickly learn new topic areas as warranted by projects
- Must be able to take initiative in all aspects of job and be comfortable working both independently and in team environments
- Must thrive working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be comfortable working in a project-based, deadline-driven environment
- BA/BS required. Advanced degree preferred, but not required
