**Warehouse Worker**

**DUTIES and RESPONSILBILITIES**:

- Responsible for food safety and quality. Cheese must be kept in coolers and not out for any longer than necessary for processing.
- Follow all applicable plant safety rules and regulations. Follow all OSHA, trucking laws and regulations. Inspect forklifts daily and do not operate if not inspected.
- Monitor product and product packaging to ensure plant quality standards and customer standards are met. Prepare for shipment all customer orders. Verify against the pick list what is needed, recording quantity, lot, and product information. Consolidate items on pallets for efficient shipping. Turn in completed pick lists to management for BOL creation.
- Properly clean and sanitize all equipment following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defeats, reporting and change to supervisors.
- Follows standard operating procedures for any given job task and any task assigned by management.
- Ensure First In First Out (FIFO) is followed for all transactions.
- Keep warehouse and cooler areas safe, clean and organized. Sweep, mop, provide housekeeping as necessary. Advise management of issues when they occur.
- Perform domestic shipping activities, inbound and outbound. This includes Dry Dock and Cooler (temp 36 degrees) Understand and perform all procedures and documentation correctly.
- Verify daily the shipping schedule and times of shipment. Verify progress on the pick list and communicate with management and packaging on status of items.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by management. Assist in packaging area when warehouse tasks are complete, assisting by palletizing for shipment.
- Responsible for reporting food safety and quality problems to quality or management to initiate action.
- In absence or vacation warehouse worker will serve as back-up and cover those hours.

**SKILLS, SPECIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES**:

- Basic math skills to perform mathematical functions. Clear ability to read and write English.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work repetitiously, stand or sit for long periods at a time.
- Ability to use PPE while maintaining forklifts, follow procedures.
- Ability to work in various temperatures, hot and cold.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety practices
- Ability to work some Saturdays, over time when needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others on work matters.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, complete tasks quickly together. Create plans to accomplish work tasks together daily. Communicate breaks with each other.
- Ability to operate power equipment safely and efficiently following all pre-operational checks.
- Ability to log completed pallet information and prepare them for shipment.
- Ability to inspect incoming loads, verify the bill of lading and contents then properly warehouse and distribute incoming materials.
- Ability to multitask, support production needs as requested with retrieving materials in warehouse or cooler.
- Ability to assist in packaging when other tasks to complete in the warehouse.
- Ability to ensure product and material is stored properly daily. Film is covered, cheese is labeled and organized. First in, first out is followed. No cross contamination of allergens.

**EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience working in warehouse/logistics is preferred

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
