**Overview**

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program.
- Current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- 1+ year of Med/Surg or LTAC experience.
- Current BLS-HP certification.
- IV Therapy Certification.

**What You Need to Know**:

- Full Time 10 Days & 10 Night LVN positions
- 4:3 rotating schedule.

**Job Selling Points**:

- Versatile role with responsibilities in Clinic, in-patient, med pass, out-patient, wound care, cell side care, ER, and critical care settings.

**Responsibilities**:

- Administer prescribed medication and interpret physicians’ orders.
- Provide nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures appropriate for inmate care and safety.
- Provide emergency first aid care and check/record vital signs.
- Observe and report reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in inmates’ emotional or physical conditions.
- Instruct inmates on discharge planning.
- Supervise correctional staff regarding inmate health care.
- Consult with supervisors on complex cases.
- Check and order supplies.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Provide health care education to inmates.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS).

**Preferred**:

- IV Therapy Certification.
- Current vaccinations: Covid-19, Varicella, MMR, T-Dap, TB, HepB, Current Physical, Flu.

**Job Type**: Contract

Pay: $43.00 - $44.00 per hour
