Personal Bankers play a key role in the growth of the bank. In many situations, they act as the first and continuous contact for all bank customers and non-customers alike.
**FUNCTION OF JOB**:
Personal Bankers shall provide efficient, courteous assistance to customers and non-customers seeking the use of bank services. The Personal Banker will provide knowledgeable help and advice to new customers who wish to open a new account and shall endeavor to cross-sell bank services to new customers and to existing customers.
Personal Bankers shall act as paying and receiving agents, processing customer transactions, opening and closing of new accounts, including Certificates of Deposit and IRAs. In addition, they will be responsible for their teller cash drawer including the balancing and security of the assigned cash on a daily basis.
Personal Bankers shall be responsible for their individual customer portfolio, which includes all relationships of designated customers. They shall aggressively build relationships with customers to retain existing and attract new deposits. Personal Bankers will be responsible to develop selling programs to build their individual portfolio and subsequently utilize methods to retain those deposits they attract. They will actively participate in the bank sales management programs in order to increase the number of accounts and the account balances.
**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Performs all customer service and clerical duties related to opening new accounts of all types including but not limited to checking, savings, money market, IRAs, and certificates of deposit.
- Assist customers in utilizing all available and appropriate services for the bank by cross selling. Refers prospects to others who are more qualified and prepared to sell additional bank services or offer assistance and answer questions.
- Performs additional direct customer related duties such as:a. Cashing personal checks, payroll checks, and other commercial checks. Sells Money Orders, Cashier's Checks and auto license stickers. Accepts loan payments and safe deposit box rents.
- Issue, renew, and cash certificates of deposit.
- Develop and maintain "tickler" system for individual customer portfolio.
- Provide continuous contact by phone, in writing, and in person for customers within individual portfolio or prospects. Responsible for targeted goals set forth in the business development program. Responsible for cross selling additional services to said customers and working with them to maintain existing relationships.
- Assist customers with questions involving Electronic Banking, including internet banking, eStatements and Mobile Banking.
- Assist in the training of new tellers and personal bankers.
- Assist immediate supervisor and all other bank employees in other areas as requested.

13. Must be able to demonstrate poise and effectiveness in dealing with new personal contacts.
14. Must be poised and effective in handling unfamiliar or situations.
