Accounting Technician I

The Accounting Technician works within the Finance team. Duties may include, but are not limited to cash handling, credit card payments and customer service at the front desk; processing accounts payable; preparation of financial documents and records as needed for assigned accounting programs; processing accounts receivable and generation of appropriate invoices to customers for billable Town services, as well as, tracking, maintaining and reconciling account balances with the general ledger. The Accounting Technician reviews customer balances, does follow up and takes the necessary action to collect all balances to reduce the number of delinquent accounts. The Finance Department facilitates cross training in many of the positions within the department to better serve the community. The Accounting Technician will perform work with general supervision and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with heavy customer contact.

**Education and Experience**

High School Diploma or GED, plus college coursework in Bookkeeping, Accounting or closely related field; and one (1) to two (2) years of experience in computerized accounting including accounts payable; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License.

Pay: $44,610.00 - $66,975.00 per year
