**Job Summary**:
The Child Care Workforce Development Specialist will work to enhance and expand child care capacity in Sheboygan County. This role involves providing technical assistance and support to both existing and newly developed child care programs. Additionally, the Specialist will be responsible for conducting recruitment meetings and events aimed at potential child care providers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify and reach out to unregulated child care providers in Sheboygan County, offering support and connecting them to essential resources.
- Market child care as a viable and rewarding profession.
- Organize and conduct recruitment meetings and events targeting potential child care providers.
- Educate unregulated or potential providers about the benefits of regulation and encourage them through the regulation process.
- Identify unregulated child care providers and offer technical assistance to help them achieve regulation.
- Distribute appropriate start-up materials to those requesting information.
- Represent the agency at media and outreach events that align with the agency's goals and support its overall efforts.
- Engage with local high schools, technical colleges, and universities to promote services, speak on the benefits of regulation, and discuss career opportunities in the field.
- Maintain communication with certification/pre-licensing specialists regarding prospective regulated child care providers.
- Assist with special grant projects as needed.
- Coordinate, plan, and attend support group meetings for child care providers.
- Manage and analyze recruitment statistics.
- Develop and maintain a database to track unregulated providers.
- Collect and report data monthly, quarterly, or annually as required by funding sources and contractual agreements.
- Document results of onsite visits in both qualitative and quantitative formats.

**Experience**:

- Prior experience working in a childcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities

**Skills**:

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in child care, early childhood education, or related fields.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
- Knowledge of child care regulations and licensing processes is a plus.
