**Organization Summary**
CLOTH is a multi-faceted community development and service organization dedicated to supporting and empowering the economically disadvantaged residents of Inwood, and Washington Heights. Our mission is to provide the knowledge, resources, and opportunities our residents need to empower themselves to make positive change in their lives and their community. Our work encompasses affordable housing (we own 900+ apartment units), advocacy, organizing, education, health, youth services and neighborhood improvement. Since our inception in 1952, CLOTH, has grown from an all-volunteer agency focused on the youth of Washington Heights to an influential community development corporation. CLOTH offers an array of services including after school programs, an award-winning middle and high school, food pantry, health programs, technology and workforce development center and social services.
**Position Summary**
In a collaborative effort aimed to support diversity and inclusion in clinical research, the Health Educator will work closely with the Senior community outreach coordinator, and contribute to increasing awareness of, access to, and participation in clinical research by underrepresented groups. The position also involves working directly with participants in CLOTH programs as well as engaging with the community at large. These activities would focus primarily on deepening CLOTH’s understanding of our community’s needs and the effectiveness of our programs. The position is based in-person with occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours required.
**Responsibilities**
- Tailor outreach and education initiatives to meet the specific needs of clients.
- Organize and participate in different CLOTH and community events to educate residents, clients, and community physicians.
- Assists interested participants in navigating available clinical trial options by providing clear, concise guidance on trial criteria, eligibility, and enrollment processes.
- Act as a liaison between interested participants and clinical trials coordinator, facilitating direct connections and communication to ensure a smooth process.
- Proficiently collect and track data, demonstrating strong competencies in precision and attention to detail to ensure accurate and insightful reporting.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Design surveys that measure the effectiveness of CLOTH services/programs and help us better understand the needs of the community.
- Conduct surveys, provide analysis of findings and make recommendations for program improvements.
- Make presentations of survey findings internally and externally.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Fluent in Spanish both written and verbal required.
- 2 years of tenant organizing or community engagement experience.
- Strong data management, analysis, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with survey tools, i.e. Survey Monkey.
- Highly familiar with Micro Soft Office Suite of Applications, i.e. Word, PPT, Excel.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- B. A. in Psychology or Social work preferred.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
