**Collection Specialist**

**Nonexempt**

**Reports To: Collections Supervisor**

***Range: $ 28.00 - $30.00 per hour

A Collections Specialist is responsible for customer facing communications relating to invoices, billing, payments, and disputes.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:
**Accounts Receivable Collections**
- Complete reports as defined by the Collections Supervisor.
- Prioritize contacts with each of their customers to effect timely payment (within terms of sale - TOS) of the balances due on their customers’ accounts.
- Analyze and resolve any short pays or discrepancies within their portfolio.
- Processing credit card payments on their customers’ accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Balance Daily Credit Card Spreadsheets using CyberSource resources when task is assigned to them.
- Provide feedback to the Collections Supervisor and the Director of Credit, Collections and Sales Products on the collection efforts of key accounts.
- Pursue collection of unpaid return checks on assigned accounts.

**Account Maintenance**
- Each Collection Specialist shall be responsible for suspending or withdrawing Open terms or COD terms when Mygrant Glass Company is at risk of a financial loss.
- Each Collection Specialist shall be responsible to recommend outside collection activity when their collection efforts have been exhausted.
- Each Collection Specialist shall be responsible for filing the appropriate claim forms when a customer seeks protection from creditors under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
- Each Collection Specialist shall be responsible for responding to all customer queries, written or verbal.

**Billings**
- Each Collection Specialist shall be responsible for assisting customers with securing statements and invoices through our website.
- Each Collection Specialist shall be responsible for supporting the collection efforts of our Warehouse personnel as needed.
- Each Collection Specialist shall be responsible for supporting the efforts of our sales personnel as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

**SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES**
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Exceptional ability to communicate.
- Working knowledge of financial statement analysis, accounting, debits and credits, account reconciliation: payments and credits to invoices and debits.
- Technical skills required, as they relate for the use and desktop computers.
- Accountability and personal organization are essential.
- Safety-minded.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed.
- Ability to work weekends or holidays as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- A combination of successful equivalent experience and education.
- Two (2) to Three (3) years of previous collections experience.
- A combination of B2B and consumer collections experience.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and making fine discriminations in sound; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, maneuver in tight spaces, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch occasionally during 8-10-hour work shift.
